With the growth of softball throughout Zone 4, the demand for umpires continues to grow as well. This places increasing challenges on the Red Deer Softball Umpires Association when it comes to having the number of umpires needed to assign to the rapidly growing number of regular season and tournament games.
To try and meet this demand, the RDSUA has three clinics scheduled in April at locations throughout Zone 4:
- April 6-7 in Red Deer
- April 13 in Castor
- April 27 in Camrose
We know that the best way to ensure we have umpires for your association's home games is to have as many umpires as possible trained and carded from your community. So, we need your help to identify and recruit people to attend a clinic and become carded for the 2019 season.
Please find attached a poster with info on all three clinics to circulate to anyone who might be interested in becoming an umpire. Minimum age is 12 years, and there is no maximum. Pre-registration is required so that we an ensure we have sufficient clinic materials. I have also attached a welcome letter that includes information for potential new umpires, as well as the umpire info form we need filled out for the pre-registration.
Here's looking forward to a great season.
If you have any questions, please contact myself or any of our executive members (the complete contact list is on our website at rdsua.ca).
Thanks, Brad
